The Diploma in Education,(D.Ed.) is a specialized programme for preparing teachers for the Pre-primary level. The Programme has been

developed to meet the ever increasing demand for trained manpower in pre primary educational institutions. The Programme has been designed to provide a comprehensive view of the theoretical as well as practical aspects of pre school education in the existing and emerging educational scenario.


Objective of the Programme

  • To systematize experiences and strengthen the professional competencies of pre-school teachers;
  • To enable teachers to organize meaningful learning experiences for pre-school children;
  • To develop skills required in selecting and organizing learning experiences;
  • To understand the developmental needs of pre-school children;
  • To gain knowledge and develop an understanding of various aspects of pre-school management.

Assignments

Assignment is a means of continuing assessment of theory and practical. Assignments will help you to recapitulate the theory and go back to the text again in case students are unable to answer a particular question. Thus assignments also help to reinforce learning in distance learning system of education. These assignments consist of a set of questions and activities that you will answer at your own place by referring your blocks.

The assignments will cover all types of questions (long answer type, short answer type, objective type, multiple choice questions and case studies).

The assignments will carry thirty percent weight age. Students will be required to obtain fifty percent marks as pass percentage in each assignment separately. Each assignment will carry 100 marks. In the final result assignments will carry thirty percent weight age

Project work- is a vital component of the D.Ed. programmer. Through Lesion Plan Work, the learner will be able to experience the "feel" of working as a teacher training. Such an interaction would provide good insight into the problems and possible solutions in project work. The project will equip the learner to plan and conduct teacher training programmers
